Atlantic Jiu Jitsu host Seminar, with Legend, Romero “Jacaré” Cavalcanti.
On Saturday June 17th, Jiu Jitsu red/black belt Romero “Jacaré” Cavalcanti delivered a fantastic seminar at Atlantic Jiu Jitsu Training Centre in Sligo.
Such was the interest in the seminar, over fifty BJJ practitioners participated. Many of which traveled from across Ireland, from places such as Donegal, Mayo, Enniskillen, Dublin and Galway.
The Seminar consisted of a three hour session from 2pm-5pm on Saturday June 17th. The seminar led by Jacaré consisted of drills techniques and demonstrations. During the seminar some incredibly valuable knowledge was passed on from one of the most highly regarded Brazilian Jiu Jitsu figures in the world. Jacaré demonstrated some fantastic technical positions, including some of his favourite ways to pass the guard.
Sligo’s first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black belts.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Romero Jacare promoted Ryan Smyth, Morgan Smyth and Micky Downs to the rank of Jiu Jitsu black belt. This was a very proud moment not only for the instructors, but also, for all of the club members as they looked on to see their coaches being promoted by a legend in the sport, and become Sligo’s first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black belts.
The seminar was an incredible day for all involved. The feedback from the participants was extremely positive, and there was a great atmosphere in the gym that evening. All members are looking forward to putting their new knowledge to work on the mats soon.
Atlantic Jiu Jitsu would like to thank all the BJJ practitioners from all over Ireland for making the trip to Sligo. Huge thanks to all the dedicated our club members for their continued support. And a special thanks to the magnificent Romero “Jacaré” Cavalcanti for delivering an amazing seminar.
