The aim of Atlantic Jiu Jitsu Sligo is to deliver nothing short of the best martial arts training experience possible.
Based on the highly effective methods derived from the Ecological Approach to learning, we have created a unique approach to martial arts training that is designed to get you the best results possible.
Our highly experienced coaching team is passionate about providing you the knowledge, tools and support you need to reach your goals. We will help you increase not only your ability to defend your self – but improve your mental focus, levels of self-confidence, self-discipline, and overall fitness (body, mind and spirit).
Whether you aspire to be a top-tier competitor or if you are completely new to martial arts. We will guide you step by step all the way from beginner to Black Belt. We make sure your training is always giving you maximum results.
Our club was formally established in 2009, to provide the people of Sligo with an opportunity to learn a dynamic new sport, build fitness and enjoyment. Subsequently, Alliance Jiu Jitsu Sligo was formed in 2011 after joining the world renowned Alliance Jiu Jitsu Association led by Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti, and later re-named Atlantic Jiu Jitsu. In Sept 2015, we announced that we’re opening Sligo’s first full-time Jiu Jitsu Academy.
Jiu Jitsu is taught at the Academy by BJJ black-belts, Ryan Smyth, Morgan Smyth, and Dominick Szerszen who all have been students of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for many years. Learn more about our team here. Training takes place at our facility at Unit 9b, Cleveragh Business Centre, Sligo.
