Atlantic Jiu Jitsu was a member of the world renowned Alliance Jiu Jitsu Association from 2011 to 2022.
Alliance is one of the most prominent Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu associations and the current defending World team champion, having won the titles at the World Championships in 1998, 1999 and successively 2008-2015. Alliance was founded by Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti and his students: Fabio Gurgel, Alexandre Paiva, and Fernando Gurgel.
Alliance Global headquarters is in Atlanta, Georgia at the Alliance Martial Arts Academy, where “Jacare” is the head instructor. Fabio Gurgel, also known as the “General”, is the co-leader of Alliance and the head instructor at Alliance Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo, Brazil). Alexandre “Gigi” Paiva heads the third main Alliance academy in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Not only is the Alliance Jiu Jitsu Association highly successful in competition but also highly organised in delivering jiu jirsu to their students and affiliates. Over the years, our team has reaped enormous benefits from this association. Alliance have provided us with the highly effective ‘Alliance BJJ Fundamentals Program’ and ‘Alliance BJJ Intermediate Program’.
Also we have access to world champion blackbelts such as Michael Langhi, Bruno Malfacine and Lucas Lepri; who have travelled to Sligo to help develop and elevate our level of Jiu Jitsu. Alliance also provide opportunities for travelling to the main academies in Atlanta. Sao Paulo and Rio.
